THE BEST APPLE CRISP EVER
This is my favorite fall recipe ever! I only use apples that I pick at the orchard because they just taste the best- and are honey crisp! These are my absolute favorite and are perfect for this recipe. Other apples work too but I recommend Minnesota made honey crisps :)
RECIPE:
Time: 70 minutes Preheat oven to: 350 degrees
WHAT I USED:
1 cup flour
3/4 cup rolled oats
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
4 small apples (I used 3 large for this recipe)
1/2 cup butter - softened
1 cup sugar
2 tbsp corn starch
1 cup water
1 tsp vanilla
WHAT I DID:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Peel and chop your apples. Combine the first 4 ingredients on the list (why I separated them out), the and in soft butter until becomes crumbly. Press half of this mixture into a 9x9 greased pan and cover with apples.
In a small saucepan combine sugar, corn starch, water, and vanilla. Bring to a boil, stir and cook until thick. It will look clear. Pour this thickened mixture over apples that are in your pan. Sprinkle the remaining crumble mixture over the top.
Bake for 60 minutes. Serve with ice cream. Cheers!
